On December 8 and 9, 2009, an open house presentation took place at Vogel moulds and machines AG in Maisprach, Switzerland. More than 60 international guests from the electrical industry could familiarize themselves with the current developments in silicone-based production of insulators. In lectures and live presentations of production processes the visitors obtained practical information to make their production more efficient.
On December 8 and 9, 2009, visitors from all over the world used the opportunity to obtain first hand information at Vogel moulds and machines AG in Maisprach, Switzerland. A mix of lectures, product presentations and authentic customer reports demonstrated how the production of silicone-based hollow and long-rod insulators can be designed efficiently. Particular focus was being put on machine components and complete production systems that have an essential influence on the efficiency of the production process. Besides clamping machines, moulds, mixing, dosing and preparing devices for LSR silicone (LSR = Liquid Silicone Rubber), a new, integrated production system was presented. This integrated manufacturing system (IMS) is especially designed for producing composite hollow insulators from LSR silicone.
Ralf Hedrich, General Manager of the Hedrich Group was impressed by the very productive atmosphere and the large number of good discussions held with the customers during both days. „All our expectations were met. The response of the visitors was excellent already during the presentation. We had many good talks and have the impression that our customers really appreciate the event format open house.“
„In contrast to an exhibition we could answer our customers’ questions directly on the equipment and present live solutions.“ adds Norbert Maroldt, General Manager of Vogel moulds and machines. „In particular, the IMS was attracting much interest because the compact integration of all production components allows a significantly higher throughput compared with conventional systems.“
