Ehringshausen, March 16, 2009 --- HEDRICH windings systems (HWS), a subsidiary of HEDRICH vacuum systems, has received an order for a winding machine from Trench Germany, Bamberg. Trench belongs to the Siemens concern, business area power transmission and distribution. Bamberg is the location of the technology centre for inert gas based insulation applications of the globally acting Trench Group. The equipment supplied to Trench is an enhanced version of the proven machine platform of HWS. The system currently is the only one commercially available worldwide to wind two trapezoidal coils at the same time. Trench produces primary coils for high-voltage applications on this equipment.

The fully automated HW 150 AIT (automatic insulation transport) stands for consistent extension of the product offering of HWS. It produces two trapezoidal coils with diameters up to 350 millimeters at the same time, thus doubling the productivity. Trench is already using the equipment in volume production to manufacture primary coils for inert gas insulated (SF6) high-voltage instrument transformers. Wolfgang Weidner, Production Manager GIS, Trench Germany, sees the advantages of the cooperation primarily in the worldwide presence and in the high innovativeness of HWS. „We were looking for a globally present system provider offering machine and service solutions that are tailored to our needs and our customers’ requirements. HWS was the only supplier to offer a robust, highly productive system solution for the complex process of parallel winding of coils with highest quality within shortest time. Although the order to HWS was only placed in November 2008, we could complete the official final acceptance of the equipment already three months later.“

In addition to developing and selling winding machines HEDRICH winding systems also offers manufacturer independent maintenance, service or optimization of existing systems.
