2nd Hedrich World Congress for Medium and High Voltage Applications

After our first congress in 2006 had been such a great success, we decided to have a biennial event and organised the follow-up event to take place in 2008. Again we chose Frankfurt as venue, timely and geographically close to Hannover fair, just as it had turned out to be advantageous for our guests, speakers and exhibitors in 2006 already.

Another feature we adopted from the first congress is the structure of two days: After giving a more common overview over global developments in the Energy Market on the first day, our visitors were offered more detailed information in workshops of our main business units on the second day.

Main Topics of first day’s market overview were field reports and outlooks reported by our top-class speakers who offered a broad range of information to our more than 140 guests by lighting the energy sector from both, supplier’s and user’s point of view. Highlight of this day was the lecture held by Reinhold Messner: In „Moving Mountains“, he introduced his strategies of facing and mastering new challenges, of self motivation and turning the impossible into possible.

A grand dinner buffet and accompanying entertainment programme rounded the day off and offered the possibility of thought exchange and establishing contacts.

The lectures of the second day were held at the workshops pursuant to our main business units Cast Resin, Oil Paper, and Silicone, which turned out to be the most attractive field for our visitors: Thanks to our subsidiary Vogel moulds and machines, an especially wide range of speakers shared their experience in diverse silicone applications with the audience.

Besides different suppliers of the sector, our subsidiary green energy solutions took part in the exhibition for the first time: Dealing with the use of alternative energies, green energy solutions amplifies the product range of Hedrich vacuum systems, just as another new subsidiary which was also introduced at the second World Congress: Hedrich winding systems. Comprising these two new business units, Hedrich vacuum systems is now even more attractive for our customers since the delivery programme became even more versatile.
