Optimized Vacuum Casting Processes for E-Motor Components:

Both stators and rotors (for externally excited machines) are moulded or cast with highly filled epoxy resins for different reasons. These processes allow heat dissipation from the respective group to be considerably increased and perfectly fix the windings in the rotors, thus enabling stable speeds higher than 20,000 rpm. The present summary is to illustrate the various casting methods and discusses on selection criteria for the optimum process for the user.
